During 2018, a vulnerability was discovered on all Intel-based CPUs called the Zombieload vulnerability. The nature of this vulnerability is the ability to slow your system down by interrupting hyper-threading capabilities.

As of 14 May 2019, there has been a major rollout in software to patch this vulnerability across all states of Intel-based CPUs. Due to this finding, all of our servers will be going through a compulsory cold migration. This means that your server will be offline for a period of time; this period is calculated at 3-5GB per hour. In order to limit the effects of downtime, we will be doing systematic updates throughout the course of June to update servers. Regarding data, we will be doing backups, as well as cold storage backups, in case there are any incidences when we go back online.

Before each server is migrated, you will receive an email from the support team to let you know when this will take place. We will keep you updated when we start, and when the server is back up.

We thank you for your understanding during this period, and hope you understand this is for the safety and security of your server.

Kindest Regards,
Cloudhost Team
